Electric Ignition System

Electronic Ignition System

What is it?
The Electronic Ignition System available from Carolina
Lanterns
allows outdoor gas lights to be turned on with a typical light
switch. With Electronic Ignition, should the flame of your outdoor lantern
be blown out, the lantern will automatically re-ignite. Customers now have
the convenience of turning their outdoor gas light on and off with the flip
of a switch rather than with lighters and ladders.

Why is it needed?
The Electronic Ignition System can be used for situations where outdoor
lanterns are installed over doors, or where ladders are needed to turn
outdoor gas lights on and off. These systems are also great energy conservation
tools, when customers do not want to burn their outdoor lantern continuously.

How does it work?
With a standard wall mounted light switch, outdoor gas lights can be turned
on and off. Furthermore, if either the electricity or gas service to your
outdoor lantern is interrupted, the flame extinguishes and stays off until
the service is resumed, and then the flame will automatically re-ignite.
At no time is the un-ignited gas flow allowed to continue more than the
few seconds it takes for the igniter to restart the flame. The system
is comprised of 4 different components; valve, transformer, control box,
and igniter. The specifications are available and will be sent with your
new outdoor lantern or indoor gas light.

How is it Installed?
Reduce your gas supply line coming from wall with 1/4 copper coil or flex
line, using a 3/8 male adapter to connect to the Electronic Ignition Gas
Valve. Electronic Ignition valve has 3/8 female connection. The power
source operating the electronics is 24 V.A.C. 40VA. The transformer can
be supplied by customer or by Carolina Lanterns.
