Jan is a hands on business owner who is involved in every aspect of her business, from buying to the daily operations and sales.
Formerly VP of sales for International Shipping Lines, and a Regional Sales Manager.

Victoria Halaas - Showroom Manager, ALA Certified
Victoria joins Carolina Lanterns and Lighting with many years of experience in the fashion industry with retail clothing management. She calls Mount Pleasant home for 12 years now and enjoys outdoor activities including gardening, biking and tennis.
Shannan Payne Preston - Builder Sales Associate
Shannan is an ALA Certified Lighting Specialist focusing on residential and commercial electrical layout & design, product specifications for recessed, task, and accent lighting, and home lighting controls. She holds a BS in Public Relations from West Virginia University and resides in Mount Pleasant with her husband and son.
Patricia Hanson — Builder Sales Associate
She minored in Advertising. She has worked at Carolina Lanterns since May 2010. Originally from Sumter, South Carolina, she has lived in the Old Village of Mt Pleasant since 2006
Education:Graduated from Clemson University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications Studies.
Kimberly Nesbitt- Builder Sales Associate
Jamey Nelson — VP Sales, ALA Lighting Associate
Jamey Nelson joined Carolina Lanterns after a 15 year career in the surfacing business in the lowcountry. He heads up our Builder Sales Division. Jamey is ALA Certified, has a BS from Lander University and an MBA from The Citadel. He lives on James Island with his wife and two girls. He enjoys spending time with his family, triathlon and boating.
Pippa Malone – Inside Sales
Joining Carolina Lanterns and Lighting in 2014, Pippa brings a unique brand of enthusiasm embracing a new career in Lighting Design. Possessing a keen eye for detail and excellent customer assessment skills, she is able to transform clients’ electrical requirements into illuminating, functional design solutions.
With an Interior Design and Studio Arts background, Pippa has worked in Showroom Sales and Project Management, specializing in kitchen & bath design since arriving in Charleston in 1990. She has also been a freelance decorative painter and architectural illustrator. She enjoys practicing calligraphy, photography, reading and travel.
Teri Edwards - Inside Sales
After graduating with a BS in Political Science from Rollins College, Teri decided to make a change and enter the design world. After gaining experience with Acquisitions and Domain Interiors and Design, Teri made a full-time commitment to design and started with Carolina Lanterns. Teri moved to the Charleston area three years ago and enjoys partaking in the exquisite cuisine, beaches and all the other outdoor festivities that the low country has to offer.
Alison Massari - Sales Assist
Alison has been with the Carolina Lanterns team since April of 2016. She is originally from Nashville, Tennessee, but has lived in Charleston since 2009. She graduated from College of Charleston with a B.A. in Arts Management and a minor in Studio Art and has been working in the Arts/Theater/Design world ever since. She has always gravitated towards customer service-related positions and loves helping people and solving problems.
Shavonne Clayton - Customer Service
Has been working in retail for several years. She graduated from Francis Marion University with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts in 2006. Looking for a change of pace, she joined the Army National Guard in 2011 where she embarked on an exciting new career and welcomed a world of opportunity.
She joined the Carolina Lanterns team in July 2013, and was hired permanently in November 2013.
She enjoys working hard and spending time with her son.
Sam Ramsey — Warehouse Manager
US Navy Veteran with over 25 years of warehouse operations experience.
Hobbies include reading and crossword puzzles.
